New Drew Millward Shirts! Saturday, May 22nd, 2010

Hi guys, we’re off to Germany today, but I have just enough time to release an image of our new shirts, designed by Drew Millward! They are fantastic, Little Michael (Evil Band Merch) has done an amazing job printing them. We are very happy. Full tour dates are up on the gigs page. The first date is Stuttgart. We are playing a secret show on 27th. I’m assured its going to be amazing, but even I don’t know where it is yet. Oh well. Hope to see you there!

When we return from Germany we’ll have our split 7 inchs. Follow us on twitter – @brokenfew for updates on the road.

Spoil Your Dinner Monday, April 19th, 2010

Hi fools. What a fun weekend we had. Friday consisted of sitting around all day worrying about the van which was still in a state of abject disrepair. I got a text from Greg around noon saying it was finally fixed, and we then set about waiting to be told we could pick her up. We finally managed to get loaded and away from the Sunderland by 6pm. Despite our lateness, Harrogate was fantastic. Thanks so much to Ozzy for sorting that out. Those shows never disappoint.

After the show we drove to Leeds to stay with Dave and spent the night naming hair cuts. “Nesquif”, “The French Baker”, “Rusty Spoon”, “Jumanji”, “Silent Scream”, “Five Head”, “Borstal”, “The Grey Lady”, and “Harvest Wheat”. See if you can guess who those belong to. Most of Satuday was spent on an excursion to Stoke on Trent. We finally arrived back in Leeds to play a fun show, and then set off to Juvinile Hall. I was slaughtered. I ended up doing the worm and losing my phone in the process. Jonny found it. Legend.

Next show is going to be 100% amazing. Its with Young Livers, Bridge and Tunnel and Pure Graft at the White Room, April 25th. Matinee show. Be there early, shit heads.

Announcing “The Yorkshire Tour” Tuesday, April 13th, 2010

Folks, these are exciting times. Yes, in my final month at University when I should be hammering away at a keyboard in a dimly lit room with only a jar of coffee and a copy of Gary L. Francione’s “Animals, Property and the Law”, we have managed to book a weekend which we are calling our “Yorkshire Tour”. Hilarious stuff, I’m sure you’ll agree.

Festivities begin this Firday, 16th April at Crab Trees in Harrogate. This show is free. Thank you to Ozzy and the North Yorkshire Hardcore folks for sorting this out. We had an amazing time last time we were in Harrogate dressed as Crocodiles, Priests and Pricks. The second has been arranged by the Sex Owl himself, Dave Hillier and is at The Packhorse, Leeds on Saturday 17th April.

Both shows will be feature crucial brothers Pure Graft and pop punk legends One Car Pile-Up, with notable appearances from Fuck with Fire and Dogfight.

This will be the first outing in a vehicle we have come to know as “The Thunder Road”. She’s currently immobile, but I am assured that her pistons will fire once more. In all seriousness folks, Greg bought and LDV convoy and we love it. We bought some extra seats (some of which possess magical properties) and intend to fit them in time for the European tour. Exciting (and somewhat spooky) announcements on this front to be made soon.

Oh yeah, Boat Race went to press today. We will have them in a month. How exciting.

See you in Yorkshire.

Band Holds Sit-in During “Social Music Revolution”. Saturday, December 19th, 2009

Well, its been a few weeks so here’s an update on what we’re up to. We managed to finish writing all of the songs for the album in early December, and we’ve been busy trying to learn new songs (and I emphasise, trying) and trying to remember what the fuck we were playing in old ones (again, emphasis).

Much of the time our line up has been incomplete due to work commitments, coursework deadlines and driving Leatherface on tour with Dillinger Four. Still it seems everyone has come back home to roost for the winter now, so hopefully we’ll manage at least one full practice before we head to Barnsley.

Recording dates are confirmed. We’ve been planning this since we got back from tour, so its nice that its paid off and we’re relatively prepared for it. We commence January 4th for around 10 days (or, until we run out of money). Three of us were last down there recording with Jase about 1 and a half years ago, and the guy is a genius, so hopefully this thing will turn out well. We estimate that this is going to be one of the longest albums you have ever heard. Seriously.

Today me, Greg and Jonny worked on some parts of songs we were unhappy with and improved them greatly. I’m happy we’ve had time to do this. In fact I’m shocked we’ve had time to do this.

What else? … erm. Oh. I built us a new website while procrastinating on starting my dissertation. Wowee. More news when we begin tracking, probably.

Happy non-denominational holiday. Step away from the turkeys, Jerks. Here’s a photo from our Christmas party!

It is the hour! Thursday, October 29th, 2009

Fellow children of satan! We will be playing two halloween shows this weekend. This is very exciting. Its the two gigs of the year that Jord won’t get asked to take off that horrible mask! Firstly, we’ll be playing at The Little Wonder in Harrogate on Friday October 30th with Lock and Keys, Sweet Revenge, The Grebs and more (apparently). Then, on Saturday the 31st of October we will be playing Le Pub in Newport, South Wales with Crazy Arm and others. Here is a very scary flyer:

We will endevour to get some photos and video of our frankly terrifying costumes and post them here for you unlucky demons who cannot attend. In other news we’re busy writing and demoing a lot of new material in the hopes that we can, some day soon, record a full length record. Don’t hold your breath.

Hail Satan.
