Podcast - September 6th 2008

This month, Lee decides to catch up on some recent animal rights issues, namely the breeding of mini-cows in people's back gardens and "rent-a-pet" companies. Also, we recount several stories of abuse following a report into Detention Centres in the UK.

We forgot to mention this cool book by Nathan Winograd, which details the "No Kill" movement in the USA. Check out his website.

Films Without Borders - April 2008

This month we are live at the Films Without Borders Festival 2008! Our podcast is 2 fold, and spans 1hour in total. We have a talk with Becca from Corporate Watch (with some interesting additions from Laura). The talk concerns the situation in Iraq and details the plight of its people and the involvement of coporations in rebuilding (and profiteering from) the country. Very interesting. Towards the end, issues of right wing anit-border campaigns, invisible borders that segregate communities within nations and organisations such as Unions are touched on.

Also - be sure to check out this talk with Peter Mutando and friends. Peter is a film maker and director of the theatre production "Cry My Zimbabwe". He discusses his first hand experiences of the UK asylum system, and how he formed his arts collective with other asylum seekers in the UK. What better way to learn about the system, than to hear from people who have been through it.

Podcast - October 2007

Jord walked into the office with a big smile on his face yesterday. I can't think of any reason why that could be other than how much he was looking forward to co-hosting the podcast... unless ... eeewwwww!

In this episode, we talk about (suprise suprise) US officials declaring their "hatred" for Iran, Creationism in Britains Schools, the RIAA and some fucking other dink-eyed asshole. This is 30 minutes of the stupidest social commentary ever made. I do my Stephen Fry impersonation... the Hannah-Barbara sound effects are at their most prolific too. Tune in today.

Music in this month's show:

Rentokill - Sounds of a pitiful end
GFK - The end of our contribution to modern slavery
The Misfits - Some Kind of Hate
